Jonaid Saki, chief coordinator of mass solidarity movement, said that there is no vegetable under 100 rupees in the market. Commodity prices have skyrocketed. The interim government is not able to reduce the prices of goods due to past syndicates. We want to say, take proper measures to prevent high prices. Take action against those who extort goods from the village, who manipulate the prices of chatals and mill owners to increase the prices.
Jonaid Saki said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the mass dialogue organized by the mass solidarity movement at Ashwinikumar Hall in Barisal city on Thursday night. The dialogue was organized for a new political settlement to build a non-discriminatory state.
In the dialogue, Jonaid Saki also said that misrule has been going on in the country for 53 years, not only for the last 15 years. The poor are being deprived of justice. Because, according to Article 70 of the country’s constitution, whoever is in power becomes the owner of all power. A balance of power should be created so that the Prime Minister is accountable to the public. For that, Article 70 of the Constitution should be removed.
The head of the Mass Solidarity Movement said that a balance of power between the President and the Prime Minister will be needed to ensure accountability. Parliament should be bicameral. There should be a balance of power between the two houses. Judiciary should be independent. It should be completely separated from the executive department. The media should be made independent, measures should be taken so that no government can monitor the media.
Abul Hasan Rubel, Executive Coordinator of Mass Solidarity Movement and Central Member SM Amjad Hossain were special guests in the mass dialogue. Barisal district coordinator of the party Dewan Abdur Rashid Nilu presided over by district executive coordinator Arifur Rahman Miraj and professional council Dr. Mizanur Rahman.
