BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, we want to bring back caretaker government system permanently for free and fair elections. Other things that need to be reformed should be completed quickly and an election should be organized. A reasonable time can be taken by the current government for this.

He said this while addressing the chief guest on the occasion of the 8th death anniversary of BNP leader late Hannan Shah at Kapasia Pilot High School ground in Gazipur on Friday afternoon. Hannan Shah organized the Smriti Sangsad.

Mirza Fakhrul said, reasonable time does not mean that they will take much time. The sooner the elections are held, the better off the country will be. Therefore, reforms should be completed quickly and an election environment created to hand over power to the elected parliament.

He said that even though Sheikh Hasina escaped, the country’s crisis is not over yet. Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus and his government are all good people. This government wants reforms and we also believe in reforms.

He also said that the process of withdrawing the false case in the name of Tarek Zia has already started. All conspiratorial false cases filed against him should be withdrawn immediately and arrangements should be made for Tariq Zia to come home. He also demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases filed against all the leaders and activists of the country. Because if all these cases are not withdrawn, a level playing field will not be created.
