The deadline for submitting missing person complaints has been extended till October 10. Earlier, the deadline was given till September 30.
Retired Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury, head of the commission formed to investigate the disappearance of the press conference at the Gulshan office on Thursday afternoon, said this.
He also said that the mirror is located in the headquarters compound of DGFI.
Prior to this, the ‘Commission of Inquiry on Disappearances’ was formed for the first time to investigate and prosecute the disappearances in the last 15 and a half years, i.e. from 2009 to 5 August 2024.
The work of this commission started from last September 15.
In a press conference, the organization said that in 13 working days, a total of four hundred victims filed complaints with the commission, most of which were against RAB.
Besides, there are complaints against the Detective Police or DB, CTTC, DGFI.
It was informed in the press conference that the members of the commission went to the offices of a total of three organizations including the Directorate General of Defense Intelligence DGFI and found secret prisons.
Chief Retired Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury said that the mirror or joint interrogation cell is located in the headquarters compound of DGFI.
He said, there are 20-22 cells on the ground floor of the two-storey building. And the second floor was used for administrative purposes. Now they are vacant.’
Apart from the DGFI, the other two agencies are the Intelligence Branch (DB) of the police and the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC).
The commission visited DGFI’s ‘mirror’ on September 25 and DB and CTTC on October 1, said the head of the commission.
However, noting that ‘no prisoners were seen there’, he said, ‘Probably everyone was released after August 5.’
