The five-party Left Alliance has held rallies and demonstrations demanding a reduction in the prices of daily commodities and the return of laundered money. The program was held in front of the National Press Club on Saturday. At this time, the leaders also demanded the introduction of rationing system and the arrest of money smugglers.

Speakers said that the interim government has been in power for more than two months but has not been able to do any work including reforming the state. Effective initiatives have not been taken to control the prices of daily commodities and control the law and order situation. There is no effective initiative to dismantle the business syndicates formed during the Hasina government. Even if the market could not be brought under control, an ordinance has been issued for the operation of Grameen Bank’s tax-free activities.

Speakers said that the law and order situation is currently in a critical state. As a result, cases of theft and robbery are happening frequently. They demanded that Sheikh Hasina be brought under the law for violating the constitution.
