The bullet-riddled body of a cook named Swarna Kumar Tripura (45) was recovered in Pomang Para area of Dighinala in Khagrachari.
Muhammad Zakaria, OC of Dighinala police station, said that the bullet-riddled body was recovered near the victim’s house after receiving information early in the morning. Later, the body was sent to Khagrachari District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
The relatives of the deceased said that he left the house after eating rice at night to go to the collective guard work in the neighborhood. He was known as an innocent and hardworking person in the area. The deceased Swarna Kumar was reportedly the father of one child.
According to the police, some time last night due to previous enmity, miscreants shot him dead in cold blood. The rest will be known later through investigation.
