BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi commented that giving shelter to Sheikh Hasina means condoning crime.
Addressing India, he said, ‘Sheikh Hasina is the greatest top terrorist, murderer. Who else can be a top terrorist who can drink the blood of a child? To harbor him is to harbor crime. Harboring injustice, harboring murderers.’
He said this after paying tribute at the shrine of martyred President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of ‘Ziaur Rahman Foundation’s Silver Jubilee’ on Friday (October 18).
Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, ‘The fallen dictatorship is not sitting. Yesterday a statement from the neighboring country clearly stated that Sheikh Hasina is there. We have a repatriation agreement with India. An arrest warrant has been issued against Sheikh Hasina, if the arrest warrant is issued, the return issue can be resolved through diplomatic talks, she (Sheikh Hasina) can be brought back. And if not, all the top terrorists in Bangladesh will take the opportunity to get shelter there. You will have the opportunity to get asylum in different countries. Looking at their statement yesterday, it seems they behaved like Big Brother. They have to come out of there.’
The spokesperson of BNP said, ‘I am still unable to free myself from the violent clutches of dictatorship. Shutdown was done suddenly in 50 to 60 districts yesterday. Who are they? But we have been saying for a long time, the friends of dictatorship are inside, but they will sabotage. REB and Rural Electricity Corporation were formed by the great freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman. Ziaur Rahman took the initiative to enlighten the entire nation with a great initiative to spread light in the villages and for agricultural production. Since it was established by Ziaur Rahman, dictatorial Sheikh Hasina hatched various conspiracies to destroy it. They don’t want to keep that name. What happened yesterday is part of a deeper conspiracy. We have spoken against this conspiracy several times. If they had demands, they could have applied to the government. But why did they shut down yesterday instead of doing it? Because it’s part of a deeper conspiracy, it’s sabotage.’
He said, ‘Why didn’t they take this program during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure? Because they are Sheikh Hasina’s people. Those involved in this program are directly Sheikh Hasina’s people. The ghosts of the so-called tyranny are haunting with ghostly existence. They are conspiring to destroy this institution. We are asking the government to be more careful, otherwise the achievements in exchange of blood, the sacrifices of children, boys and girls of schools and colleges will stop our journey towards democracy. The delay you are talking about reforms will create doubt in people’s minds. If you have sincerity, then quickly reform and return the people’s power to the people.’
This leader of BNP urged the interim government, ‘You should not suddenly bring forward the proportional vote election and create complications. Creating complications in the name of proportional election means supporting anti-independence, you should not create complications in a well-planned manner. Many countries of the world have returned by introducing this method.
Nepal introduced, has gone awry – he commented, ‘To create a new system, society and people’s aspirations must match. Civil society is talking about it, and based on that if you think it is right, then the electoral system will be broken even more. Now it will take 5-10 years to understand this proportional system.’
He said, ‘Every party has supported the interim government. It is a government supported by democratic people, you have to understand the language of people’s heart first.’
The Executive Director of Ziaur Rahman Foundation was present at this time. Farhad Halim donor, Professor Morshed Hasan Khan, agriculturist Shamimur Rahman Shamim, Dr. Shamim, Dr. Kakan etc.
