Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the United Nations to withdraw all peacekeepers, including Bangladeshis, from Lebanon.

He made that call in a video message on Sunday (October 13). He gave this message after making a statement condemning the Israeli attack on the peacekeepers of 40 countries including Bangladesh.

Complaining in the video message, Netanyahu said that the Israeli forces have repeatedly asked that the peacekeepers be removed from the Hezbollah positions and the fighting areas. But the UN did not do that. Instead, Hezbollah fighters are being protected by human armor. I again call upon Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Now is the time to withdraw the peacekeepers. So get them out of the war zone.

He also said, ‘Honorable Secretary General, immediately remove the peacekeepers from the dangerous area. Now is the time to move them asap. By refusing to withdraw the troops, you are making them Hezbollah’s shields. It is putting the lives of both peacekeepers and our troops at risk.’

It should be noted that in the last few days, the Israeli forces have attacked the positions of the peacekeepers several times. Several peacekeepers were injured. Western countries condemned Israel after the peacekeepers were injured.
