Pakistan started the day with a look and feel. However, their resistance could not be sustained for long. Nahid Rana picked up a pair of wickets after breaking the pair by holding the hands of Taskin Ahmed. It broke the backbone of the hosts’ innings.
Pakistan started the day today (Monday) with 9 runs in 3.5 overs. Saim Ayyub and Shan Masood took that run to 47 with quick batting in Rawalpindi. It seemed that the pair may have been frozen then.
However, Taskin gave Bangladesh the first chance of the day. Saim Ayyub returned with a catch to Nazmul Shanta to drive his ball. Scored 20 runs off 35 balls before getting out.
Nahid Rana did not allow the pair of Babar Azam and Shan Masood to accumulate. For the first time in the day, the Pakistan captain returned with the ball in hand. Shan Masood caught behind the wicket for 28 runs from 34 balls. 4th wicket falls to Pakistan.
The fifth wicket also came from the hands of Nahid Rana. Coming to bowl the next over, Babar sent back Azam with the first ball. He caught Sadman Islam for 11 off 18 balls. Mohammad Rizwan could have returned in the same way in the next ball. But this time Sadman could not take the catch.
After 20 overs, Pakistan collected 79 runs for 5 wickets. After getting a lead of 12 runs from the first innings, it was reduced to 91 runs.
Note that Bangladesh and Pakistan are playing in the second match of the two-match Test series in Rawalpindi. Where the hosts lost the toss and scored 274 runs in the first innings by batting first. Bangladesh’s innings ended with 262 runs in reply.
