Welcoming Sinwar’s killing, Netanyahu said the war could end tomorrow if Hamas surrenders its weapons and returns the remaining hostages in Gaza.

In a video message on Friday to the families of the hostages, he said, “Until we can bring your loved ones home, Israel will fight with all its might.” Because they are dear to us too.

On the killing of Sinwar, IDF chief Lt. Col. Hertzi Halevi said, “We said we would catch him, and we caught him.” The world is better now without him.

The Israeli military says it carried out a raid on a building in the Gaza city of Rafah on Wednesday. The building was believed to be used by senior Hamas leaders. Three people were killed in that raid, Sinwar being one of them.

Israel was several hours late in confirming the news of Yahya Sinwar’s death. His dental records and fingerprints were matched. Israel has stored Sinwar’s genetic data. Because he spent decades of his life in Israeli prisons.
