Maulana Abdul Halim, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami said, Jamaat wants to build a prosperous Bangladesh through united efforts.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the Rukon Conference organized by Dinajpur District Jamaat at the local community center on Monday (October 14) at 9 am.
He said that the fascist Awami League government has strangled democracy with the help of the hegemons. On October 28, 2006, Bangladesh lost its way on the day when Awami League started the path of killing democracy by carrying out logi-baitha rampage on the streets of Dhaka. In the last 17 years, they have killed 11 top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami by hanging and using prisons, oppression and torture. Across the country, Jamaat-e-Islami and Islamic student camps have killed, disappeared and murdered many people including hundreds of leaders and activists, clerics, scholars, journalists and intellectuals and harassed thousands of leaders and activists with attacks and cases. Fascist Sheikh Hasina took refuge in India on August 5 in the face of the united mass movement of liberation students against their misrule and the country was freed from fascism.
He also said that in the changing situation of the country, the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami have to play an effective role in building a discrimination-free country and nation in addition to managing the organization. Jamaat wants to build a prosperous Bangladesh through united efforts. For that purpose, the members of Jamaat should continue their united efforts to build a new Bangladesh based on justice through honesty, competence and efficiency.
