The interim government’s religious adviser welcomed the critics and called them well-wishers. A F M Khalid Hossain. He said to be more aware in the future by giving importance to their concerns.
In a long post on his verified Facebook ID on Sunday, he said, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. Recently some words and sentences have been criticized and debated due to misunderstandings. I am thankful that my many well-wishers, friends, and respected teachers gave me honest advice in this regard. In deference to their concerns, I admit that I was careless in my use of words, which inadvertently led to some misunderstandings. I promise to be more aware in the future. I am sincerely sorry to all, especially those whom I have hurt I have my sincere sympathy.
Speaking about the respect for the scholarly society, he said, “My respect for the scholarly society is eternal.” I have spent important periods of my life in their presence and even today I have good relations with the community of scholars of all maslaks including the top scholars of the country. Alhamdulillah, I always value their advice and am always ready to correct them if I make a mistake.
Welcoming constructive criticism, he said, I always welcome constructive criticism from scholars and Talibul Alam. Criticism opens the way to much good. I am also grateful to those who gave constructive and polite criticism. However, personal attacks have been made through some rude criticism, which is very unfortunate. I pray for them, may Allah grant them the strength of decent and constructive criticism.
Urging everyone to work amicably, he added, “Our government is your government.” I respect your sacrifice and contribution in building this country and nation. If we make a mistake, it can cause damage not only to the government but to everyone. That is why I call upon everyone to work amicably and unitedly.
Stating that decency should be maintained in criticism, he further said, “I have made some changes in my approach due to the advice of my respected scholars and your concerns.” We are all human, it is natural to make mistakes. So if there is any advice, give it in the form of advice through scholars. And if you have to criticize on social media, please do so with decency.
At the end of the post, the religious adviser said, May Allah guide us all, and expand the path of religion through us. May we successfully play a role in building the country and nation. Allahumma Amen.
