A drone strike targeting a base in northern Israel has killed 4 Israeli soldiers and injured more than 60 others. Lebanon’s Iran-backed group Hezbollah carried out the drone attack.
This information was reported by the British media BBC with reference to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
According to the BBC, the attack was carried out on the Israeli army base in Benyamina area, south of Haifa. Among the injured, 7 soldiers are in serious condition.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah has made a statement accepting responsibility for the attack.
Hezbollah said in a statement that the attack targeted a training camp of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Golani Brigade in the area between Tel Aviv and Haifa. The attack was carried out in response to Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon and Beirut last Thursday.
The ountry’s ambulance service says 61 people were injured in the attack. Three of them are in serious condition.
Meanwhile, footage released by Israeli media showed the wounded being helped by helicopters and emergency vehicles.
Many of the injured were evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in nearby Hadera – others were taken to hospitals in Tel Hashomer, Haifa, Afula and Netanya.
25 Israeli soldiers were injured in an attack by Hezbollah fighters on Sunday. These troops went to conduct a ground attack in northern Lebanon. Of the 25 injured, two are in critical condition, according to Israeli media outlet Kan News.
