Foreign Adviser Tohid Hossain said that the government will take all measures to bring back Awami League president Sheikh Hasina from India who fled the country after resigning from the post of Prime Minister in the face of the student movement.
He said this in response to reporters’ questions at a briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and fled the country on August 5 in the face of the student movement. Then Dr. The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus has announced that the International Criminal Tribunal will prosecute the movement for genocide. Later the International Criminal Tribunal was reconstituted. Today, the trial of the International Criminal Tribunal for the murders of the students in the mass uprising has begun. On the first day, following two separate applications, arrest warrants were issued against 46 people including Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader. In the order, Sheikh Hasina has been arrested by November 18 and ordered to appear before the tribunal.
In the afternoon, in response to a question regarding this, the foreign adviser said, “We will take all necessary measures to bring back Sheikh Hasina.” The court gave one month’s time. We will take whatever steps are taken to bring Sheikh Hasina back within this period.
Sheikh Hasina is staying in Delhi or not? In response to a question asked by journalists, Tauhid Hossain said, “We have unofficially come to know that he is staying in Delhi.” Apart from this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is trying to know the whereabouts of others who have been arrested.
At this time, the foreign adviser also talked about bringing back the Bangladeshis stuck in Lebanon. Tauhid Hossain said, there is a shortage of enough planes to return Bangladeshis from Lebanon. In this situation, the government is thinking of returning Bangladeshis by sea in addition to air.
