The government has formed an advisory committee to investigate allegations of corruption in the appointment of Deputy Commissioners (DCs). The committee has been asked to submit the inquiry report within 10 working days. Secretarial support to the Committee will be provided by the Field Administration Division of the Cabinet Division.
The notification issued by the Cabinet Division from the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser was sent to the media on Wednesday midnight.
Adviser on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued in the announcement. Asif Nazrul has been made the convener of the investigation committee. The other two members of the committee are – Home Affairs Adviser Lt. General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Nahid Islam.
The issued notification also said that recently various newspapers published corruption related to the appointment of Deputy Commissioner. This committee was formed in view of the news published on August 3 on various social media. Members can co-opt if the committee wants. Committee meetings will be held as required.
