The Zionist country has not officially acknowledged any damage after Iran’s deadly attack on Israeli territory earlier this month. After the attack, it was finally known that there had been heavy damage in Israel.
On October 1, Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles at Israeli territory. Reports by Bloomberg and the Jerusalem Post on Monday highlighted the civilian casualties in the attack. However, the Israeli government has not yet disclosed the military casualties.
The Jerusalem Post reports that Iran’s missile attacks on Israel caused an estimated $40 million to $5.3 billion in personal property damage. This account belongs to the Israel Tax Authority itself. As a result, it became the costliest attack since the start of the war a year ago.
About 2,500 house damage claims have been submitted to the authorities in two weeks after the Iranian attack. More than half of the damage was in northern Tel Aviv, Israel’s heartland. Apartments and businesses have been affected there.
However, the center of the attack was the city of Hod Hasharon. More than 1 thousand houses were damaged there.
Another one damaged was a commercial and residential complex near the coast in northern Tel Aviv. Dozens of apartments and a restaurant were damaged. Damage was also reported in other parts of Israel. However, this does not include the damage to the Israeli air force bases at Tel Nof and Nevatim.
When Israel’s invasion of Gaza began last year, Lebanon’s Hezbollah launched an attack in solidarity with Hamas. As a result, 60,000 Israelis fled their homes in the north. There is no guarantee when they will be able to return home.
On October 1, Iran launched 200 ballistic missiles at arch-enemy Israel in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in an Israeli attack in Beirut. Earlier last April, 300 drones and 100 ballistic missiles were attacked. However, the October 1 strike was Iran’s second direct strike against Israel.
According to Israeli reports, this time Iran used advanced weapons and most of its missiles entered Israel’s airspace. The attack killed one person near the West Bank city of Jericho and wounded several others elsewhere.
Israel has threatened to retaliate against Iran for the missile attack. The Security Cabinet met last week to take a decision in this regard. However, Israel’s response has not yet been voted on.
US President Joe Biden has made it clear that he wants Israel to refrain from attacking Iran’s oil and nuclear facilities.
