A car was stopped and robbed at noon in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. The bandits took Tk 10 lakh 75 thousand from the car.
The robbery took place in the car of Nestlé Company in Mohammadia Housing Limited area of Mohammadpur this morning.
Mohammadpur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Hafizur Rahman told The Daily Star that they received information about a robbery of a Nestle car in Mohammadpur Housing Limited area.
He said that there was Tk 10 lakh 75 thousand cash in the bag which the robbers took away. Preparations are underway to file a case in this incident.
Saiful Islam, regional account officer of Nestle in Mohammadpur, told reporters that they left the office at 9 am to deposit money in the bank.
On reaching Mohammadia Housing Limited, their car slowed down due to road maintenance. At 9:50 am, six robbers on two motorcycles came from behind and broke the windows of their car. Then they forced the car to stop and went in front of the car. They had knives and weapons. They attacked by breaking the window glass. They ran away with the office money in the bag and the money in my pocket.
