A construction worker named Mahmud Mia (50) died after getting cut from a moving train in Shaistaganj of Habiganj.
He died on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital on Wednesday evening.
Mahmud Mia is the son of late Yusuf Mia of Chanpara village of Baniachong upazila.
It is known that the Sylhet-bound Paharika train that left Chittagong on Wednesday afternoon was slowly leaving Shaestaganj station after a break. At this time, Mahmud boarded the wrong train. At that time, when he got down from the moving train, one of his legs fell under the wheels of the train and was separated from his body. He was first admitted to Habiganj District Sadar Hospital. Later in the evening, he died on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Badshah Alam Pramanik, officer-in-charge of Shaistaganj railway police outpost, said Mahmud Mia was going to Comilla to work as a construction worker. But he forgot and got on the train to Sylhet. After knowing the matter, he hurriedly got down and met with this accident.
