A-League has no right to do politics: Ali Ahmad

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Dr. Colonel (Retd.) Ali Ahmad said, Bangladesh Awami League should be banned. After the role they played against 18 crore people of the country in the July-August movement, they have no right to do politics.

He made these comments to the journalists after a dialogue with the chief advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday (October 19).

Oli said, ‘Why won’t Awami League be banned? We said again today, Awami League should be banned because they stood against 18 crore people. They have no right to do politics.’

Oli Ahmad, who also served as the Minister of Communications during the BNP-Jamaat government, said that Awami League has used everything including the police and administration to hold on to power.

He said that the army and some police refused to fire during the protest and they could not stand it.

According to him, more than 1500 people lost their lives and many people were injured in this movement.

Oli said, today they have given 23 proposals. In this, the demand for fair and impartial elections and a solution to the increase in the prices of daily necessities have also been proposed.

This is the second dialogue in the current phase which started on October 5 with the participation of some parties including BNP, Jamaat, CPB.

15 political parties including Gano Forum, Liberal Democrats Party (LDP) and Bangladesh National Party (Andalib) have been invited to participate in today’s dialogue.

The main objective of the dialogue is to inform and consult the political parties about the progress of the reform work.

In addition, the chief advisor of the State Guest House Yamuna. A nine-member delegation of the People’s Forum participated in the dialogue with Yunus.

Emeritus president of public forum. The delegation headed by Kamal Hossain entered the Yamuna around 3 pm.

Except Bangladesh Awami League and its main ally Jatiya Party (Ershad), almost all political parties had the opportunity to participate in the ongoing dialogue with the chief adviser.
