UNO sacked employee on allegations of child abuse in Sindh

According to Upazila Parishad sources, Russel Sardar, an employee of the master roll of the Parishad, was returning home from Ninggain Bazar last Thursday around 9:30 pm. At that time, a fifth grade student (12) of Ninggyin Government Primary School was coming from the opposite direction. At this time, he kept the flashlight on to see the path of some rice cutting workers. When the light of the torch hit Russell Sardar’s eyes, he became furious. At one point, he slapped, punched and kicked the child, seriously injuring him. Later, the child was rescued and taken to Singra Upazila Health Complex by his father.

The child’s parents applied to Singra police station and UNO for justice in this incident. Upon finding the truth of the allegations, UNO dismissed Russell Sardar. At the same time Singra police station also recorded the complaint and took legal action.

Officer-in-charge of Singra police station Abul Kalam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the complaint has been taken into account and informed to the court.

UNO Ha-Meem Tabassum Prabha told Prothom Alo that Russel Sardar was appointed locally as an additional employee in the master roll during the Corona crisis. The government did not appoint him. He brutally tortured a child over a minor incident. So he was fired. An example has been set so that others can learn from this incident.
