Sarjis Alam, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement and member secretary of Juli Smriti Sangsad, said that he does not support the mass arrest of the officials of the banned student organization Chhatra League. He said, he does not support the mass arrest of BCL leaders.

Sarjis posted a post on his verified Facebook ID about this on Monday night. In that post, he wrote, ‘I want to disagree on one issue. The matter only focuses on Dhaka University As I don’t have a clear idea about other areas, I request you not to relate them Before 1st July and then from 1st July to 15th July there was spontaneous participation of the students in the university hall. This movement was mainly carried out by the boys and girls of the hall till the 15th.

He wrote, ‘Those who have an idea about the halls of Dhaka University know very well that in order to live in the halls here, you must have joined the Chhatra League. They had to program, guestroom. Had to stay in the common room That’s why most of those who lived there were forced to do this. Now come to another topic. About 80 percent of the students who used to be the committee of the Chhatra League in the hall used to be in the committee for some reasons such as: 1. To get a good room or seat; 2. As if you can stay until you get a job; 3. Others should not wrong him or tag him Among the remaining 20 percent, many used to abuse power, many used to persecute people of different opinion, many were candidates, many used to run with a little bit of fun.

He also wrote, ‘Those 80 percent students played the most important role in the 16-17 day movement of the first phase centered on Dhaka University. As they were posted, Hall’s relatively clean image effect was the face Other non-posted general students were able to come out with them as they marched unitedly with banners from the hall and that is why the candidates could not stop them from marching with programs from the hall. If these posted boys did not come out of the hall in unison, the non-posted would not have dared to come out in unison.

That girth and boldness these boys can show The truth from Hall’s perspective is that this posted comparatively clean image Hall boys came to the movement from July 1 to July 15 was possible and the movement could not be tagged by any other party or anti-government. There is a lot of doubt about whether it would ever happen on August 5 if the movement did not come until July 15.’

Sarzis wrote, ‘Now the question is whether I will ban these posted boys in the hall with the BCL tag. I will not answer. Those who stood shoulder to shoulder with us on the streets risking their lives since July 1 have passed their test.

The truth is that if this movement did not succeed, these boys would suffer the most. The traitor tag would have been given.’

‘Due to the system they had to do compulsory BCL politics, take posts; All of you must be responsible for that system. Because you were silent. However, no one stopped the injustice that happened to them day after day in the campus If they took the post for safety and security, you too kept quiet to save yourself. Rather, whenever there was an opportunity, they boldly united and came down on the streets. And even then you have been a silent spectator and have only seen many things.’
