Mirza Abbas, a member of the party’s standing committee, said that BNP will decorate the country with Jamaat-e-Islami.
He made this comment at a protest rally organized by the Mahanagar Dakshin Jamaat against ‘Awami League beating people to death with logi baitha on October 28, 2006’ at Ramna Engineers Institution in the capital on Monday.
In the speech of the special guest, Mirza Abbas said, ‘Bangladesh without Awami League should be done. Because Awami League and democracy cannot go together.’
He said, the suffering of the past days is now a story for us. We give thanks, we brought home the fruits of long hard work on August 5th. On this 5th of August, one of our wishes has been fulfilled without Hasina Bangladesh. Now we want Bangladesh without Awami League. Awami League and gentlemen’s democracy can never go hand in hand. Awami League is Satan’s friend.
He added, “We are happy that they are gone.” There is really no reason to be happy. Their minions are present everywhere in politics, culture, secretariat, military. You cannot establish democracy in Bangladesh without them.
Mirza Abbas said, Awami League is still spreading new theories in Bangladesh. Trying to get it out of our mouths. We are not guinea pigs. Those who are born again will not understand the meaning of our labor. They will not understand that Maulana Saeedee, Nizami Saheb have given their lives. Hundreds of BNP workers gave their lives. Still in jail, there is a case. I still have more than 100 cases against me. But now I will not be arrested, so there is peace.
This senior BNP leader said, ‘If Jamaat-e-Islami, BNP and other parties can work together, then the country can be restructured. Otherwise, neighboring countries will continue to play with us. It can never be allowed to happen. On August 5, India has come to know that the people of the country have become united for the sake of Bangladesh, there is a solid unity between us.
At that time, BNP Chairperson’s adviser Abdus Salam said that the purpose of the mass uprising is waning due to various reasons. Unity of Jamaat and BNP should be strengthened to resist fascism. And so that the 14-party alliance cannot be politically rehabilitated in Bangladesh, national unity must be built.
Abdus Salam also said that there may be differences between Jamaat and BNP due to various reasons. But to stop fascism must be united. The two parties should unite before and after the elections.
