Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of RUET Dr. Abdur Razzaq. He has been appointed to this post for the next 4 years.
This information was informed in a notification signed by Senior Assistant Secretary ASM Kasem of the Ministry of Education on Sunday.
According to the notification, according to section 10 (1) of the Rajshahi Engineering and Technology University Act, 2003, with the approval of His Excellency the President and the Chancellor, Dr. Dr. Abdur Razzak has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology.
Several conditions have been laid down in the appointment. They are—His term of appointment as Vice-Chancellor shall be four years from the date of joining. His Excellency the President and the Chancellor can cancel this appointment at any time if necessary. As Vice-Chancellor, he will enjoy emoluments and other benefits commensurate with his current post. He will be permanently stationed on the University campus as the Chief Executive Officer of the University with effect from the date of his joining.
It should be noted that on August 31, the Vice-Chancellor of Ruet, Professor Md. Jahangir Alam resigned. Since then, the activities of Ruet have been going on without a regular Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Tarif Uddin Ahmed of Civil Engineering Department was acting as the interim Vice-Chancellor with the unanimous consent of the Deans.
