BNP and its like-minded people have demanded to announce the roadmap for the National Assembly elections by December. At the same time, they expect the interim government to organize a free, fair and impartial election. They also hope that it will be very fast.
It is said that these matters were discussed in the Liaison Committee meeting of BNP with like-minded parties at the party chairperson’s political office in Gulshan in the capital on Saturday. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu were present on behalf of BNP in the meeting.
According to sources, a decision was taken to implement 31 points in the meetings. Besides, the BNP has promised the parties involved in the simultaneous movement, that they will be given the highest value if the state comes to power. At the same time, preference will be given to youth in becoming candidates.
NAP Bhasani Chairman Azharul Islam, Vice Chairman Tajul Islam and others were present in the meeting with BNP Liaison Committee leaders in the afternoon.
Later in the meeting, the coordinator of the Left Democratic Union, Harun Al Rashid Khan, the convener of the Social Democratic Party, Abul Kalam Azad, the general secretary of the Socialist Labor Party, Dr. Samchul Alam and Comrade Harun Chowdhury, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh. After this, BNP leaders held a meeting with Bangladesh People’s Party. In the next meeting, convener of Bangladesh General Student Rights Protection Council Ismail Samrat, member secretary Sajjadur Rahman and others were present.
