President Md. A protest rally was held in Dhaka University on four demands, including Sahabuddin’s removal. An organization called ‘Independence-Sovereignty Protection Committee (SWARK)’ held a protest rally in front of the Raju sculpture of the university on Tuesday afternoon under the banner of ‘Bangabhavan siege and location programme’.
The four-point demands of the ‘Sovereignty Protection Committee’ include removal of the President, annulment of the Constitution, formation of a revolutionary national government and banning of Awami League, Chhatra League and 14 parties.
Moniruzzaman, a lawyer of the Supreme Court and one of the organizers of Swarak, said that Awami League has been under fascist rule for 15 years. The appointed president of that Awami League lost his eligibility to hold his position long ago. He said, this president should be removed. A revolutionary government must be formed in the country and the terrorist forces Awami League and Chhatra League must be banned. Moniruzzaman said, ‘immediately we have to reform the constitution, because of which the dictatorship has been going on for so long.’
Shah Newaz Shuvo, former student of Dhaka University, the organizer of the Sovereignty Protection Committee, said, ‘We cannot allow any chance of the freedom bought with blood to be lost. We are not willing to give them (Awami League) any space. At the same time, we want the removal of the president who wants to give them space.
