Their families have filed a complaint against RAB and DB in the International Criminal Tribunal for the disappearance of six workers of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir.

The complaint was filed at the prosecution office of the tribunal on Monday (October 21).

These six leaders and activists of Islami Chhatrashibir, who disappeared between 2012 and 2017, are Shah Md. Waliullah, Md. Mokaddes Ali, Hafez Zakir Hossain, Md. Zainal Abedin, Rezwan Hossain and Md. Kamruzzaman.

Islami Chhatra Shibir’s Central Student Welfare Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, Legal Secretary Abdullah Al Noman and Assistant Legal Secretary Amanullah Adeeb and family members of the missing Chhatra Shibir leaders spoke to reporters about filing a complaint of missing six workers in the tribunal.

It was informed at this time that even after a long time has passed since the disappearance, Islami Chhatra Shibir and their families complained to various government and human rights organizations including the law enforcement agencies.

After filing the complaint of disappearance, they said in a briefing at the tribunal, “The fascist Sheikh Hasina government has been running a steam roller of torture on the leaders and activists of the Islami Chhatra Shibir for the last 17 years. Numerous leaders and activists have been disappeared including jail-oppression, lawsuit-attack, remand, murder. Six of them are still missing. The family members went to the RAB headquarters on August 6 to look for the six people. The authorities said they would cooperate with them but could not give any information yet. In this context, their families have filed a complaint against the RAB-DB in the International Criminal Tribunal for the search of the six missing leaders and activists. We have come with the victim’s family. And assisted them in filing this complaint.’

They said, ‘We have not accused anyone here. I am talking about law enforcement here. As we have alleged, the tribunal investigates the real people involved in the crime. I think those involved in this disappearance will be brought out and brought to justice. Here we talked about RAB and DB.’

Ripon Hossain, brother of missing camp worker Rizwan Hossain, said, ‘On August 4, 2016, my brother was picked up on a bike in front of everyone by SI Noor Alam and one of his men. When we immediately went to the police station, OC Apoorba Hassan told us not to look for him (Rizwan). They also threatened to disappear with our family. Later we didn’t take any case, instead they kicked us out. One day he said my brother went to Turkey to join IS.

He also said, ‘Among our four brothers, three brothers did not study, I made him study with difficulty. We want to find my brother. We want our brother back. We are mad because of this younger brother.’

He broke down in tears and said, ‘We want a fair trial from the advisers.’

The son-in-law of the sister of Shah Md. Waliullah, another missing camp worker, said, ‘On February 4, 2012, Wali and Mokaddes Ali were going to Kushtia by Hanif bus from Kalyanpur in Dhaka. The bus was stopped in Nabinagar area of Savar and Wali was picked up in the identity of RAB. Since then we have had many contacts with the police station and RAB headquarters. They could not give us any information. We request that they be returned to us. We hope that the tribunal will take the necessary steps to bring Waliullah back.’

In the press conference, it was also informed that on April 2, 2013, at 4:00 am, the white-clothed law enforcement forces arrested Hafez Zakir Hossain from his house at 19/6 Tikkapara on Shyamoli Ring Road. Even after 11 years, the police did not find him.

Similarly, on August 4, 2016, at 12 noon, Rezwan Hossain, the leader of Chhatra Shibir, was arrested from Durgapur Bazar near Benapole Port in the presence of SI Noor Alam of Benapole Port Police Station in front of many people including shop owners and employees. Eight years have passed; But even today the police have not found him.

On June 18, 2017, Md. Zainal Abedin, the leader of Chhatrashibir, went missing from the room of Lemuzhiri Gorzniapara Mosque in the suburb of Bandarban Sadar. Next year (2017) on April 7, Siddiquia Kamil Madrasa Merit Student Camp worker Mu. Kamruzzaman was taken to DB identity from Lebutala in Jhenaidah Sadar.
