Former religion minister Faridul Haque Khan has seven brothers. After just passing HSC, he got the responsibility of State Minister for Religion. It is said that Faridul Haque Khan became Dulal Hasina’s confidant as a money-making machine for Hajj. After the 2024 elections, Faridul Haque Khan became a full minister in the Ministry of Religion.
The family syndicate of seven brothers was created by abuse of the power of the minister of religion and government. This syndicate was managed by Chhota Bhai Upazila Awami League Finance Secretary Murshedul Haque Khan Masud. Locally he is known as Dervish. And this Dervish controlled the local politics of Islampur Upazila Awami League with a strict hand. In the local government elections, nomination trade, recruitment trade, river management, construction of dams, etc., were in the hands of the minister’s brother Darvesh. Bribes worth billions of rupees were transacted through him.

It is known that Faridul Haque Khan joined the Awami League by holding the hand of the former president of Islampur Upazila Awami League Ziaul Haque Zia. In the 2008 election, Awami League’s senior leader won the Awami League’s nomination by ace Rashed Mosharraf, the former state minister for land. According to the investigation, former Minister of Religion Faridul Haque Khan misused state power and built Faridul Haque Khan Auditorium on government land in Islampur at a cost of 10 crores. Even though father Habibur Rahman Khan was not a freedom fighter, in his own area Sirazabad village of Palbanda Union, he occupied the land of others and built the so-called liberation war museum in the name of his father’s initials (HR Khan) at the expense of government crores of rupees. For which Masum Khan worked as a contractor. Residents said that nothing of the liberation war has been preserved. The contracting business was the rule of Masum Khan.

Out of this, Masum Khan has looted crores of rupees from the left bank conservation project of Yamuna and the project of Water Development Board, Department of Environment and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief namely bamboo piling and sand bag dumping of Brahmaputra river.
Shajahan Khan, the minister’s immediate younger brother, took the jute business in his own hands by putting all the jute traders of the upazila on the way. In 15 and a half years, all the projects done in the local government and public health department, the chairman members and contractors had to take all the goods from another younger brother Tapan Khan’s ‘Khan Machinery’.
Sohail Khan’s younger brother Sohail Khan owns a television and refrigerator company called Solar Vision in Malibag Chowdhurypara of the capital, which is chaired by Faridul Haque Khan. Luxury Flats in Rajar Bagh, flats, plots in different places in Dhaka, little girl has luxury cars house and wealth in Australia. In the heart of the city of Islampur there is a huge commercial building with four floors. After the fall of the government, Khan Machinery was closed. There is a huge house on several bighas of land in Kisamuzzalla area of the city. There are hundreds of bighas of agricultural land in Kisamujalla and Sirajabad village. Jamuna Hospital and Diagnostic Center owned by younger brother Masum Khan is in front of Islampur Upazila Health Complex. A separate gate has been made for that hospital due to the influence of the minister.
