BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said to the interim government that creating complications in the name of proportional elections means giving support to the anti-independence. You will not create any complications in a well-planned manner.
He said that our society is not ready for the proportional rate of elections that you are talking about. This method will create complications. You will not bring these things for anyone’s benefit. Nepal launched it, messed up. In order to create a new system, the society and the people’s aspirations must match.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said these things in a street meeting at Morjal bus stand of Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Thursday.
He also said, besides, some people of the country’s civil society are speaking about it (proportional rate election). And based on this, if you (interim government) think it is right, then the electoral system will break down further. Now it will take 5-10 years to understand this proportionality.
Earlier, in a street meeting organized by ‘We are BNP Parivar’ to protest the killing of Junaid Al Habib, the local coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement in Raipura, Narsingdi, Rizvi said that the friends of fascists and dictatorships are still on the prowl in the country that was won by the blood of martyrs. Fascists and all their friends will be judged on the soil of the country.
He said, the allies of dictator-fascists, the ghosts are now deep in the society and the state. They removed Junaid from the world because they are still there. Similarly, in Gopalganj, they brutally killed Didar of the volunteer group in broad daylight. The interim government was founded on the blood of these martyrs.
Before and after the road meeting, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi visited the houses of the martyrs who died in the mass movement of the students and inquired about the families and expressed condolences.
Rizvi said that during the previous fascist regime, there were thousands of cases and attacks against BNP leaders and activists. They will be properly evaluated. He urged the interim government to break the Awami Syndicate and control the price of goods.
Rizvi said, if there is any slow pace and laxity in the performance of the important duties of the interim government. Then the second freedom we are talking about, the earth-shaking revolution we are talking about on August 5, the underlying spirit, its motto will be disrupted. Consciousness will be underestimated.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi condoled with Shahid Junaid’s father Jasim Uddin. He also said that BNP will stand by their families and ensure maximum justice for Junaid’s killers. Later, on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman, financial assistance was given to the father of Shaheed Junayed under the initiative of ‘We are BNP Family’.
A delegation of ‘Amra BNP Parivar’ met with the families of the martyrs who were killed during the mass movement of students in Narsingdi district during the mass uprising of 2024. On behalf of acting chairman of BNP and main sponsor of ‘Amra BNP Parivar’ Tariq Rahman, Chief Adviser of ‘Amra BNP Parivar’ and Senior Joint Secretary General of the party, Advocate Ruhul Kabir met the families of the martyrs in Narsingdi district and conveyed their condolences.
