The 12 party alliance presented 14-point proposals including the election commission, BDR rebellion, canceling the Assam agreement and announcing the election roadmap by completing administration reforms within a reasonable time.
Syed Ehsanul Huda, the coordinator of the alliance and the chairman of the national party, highlighted this in a press conference on ‘Prevailing situation of the country and people’s expectations’ organized by the 12-party alliance at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club today (October 16).
In the press conference, the head of the 12-party alliance and the chairman of the Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Mustafa Jamal Haider said that we have only one demand – the unity of those who participated in the anti-fascist movement can save the country and the nation. If this unity cannot be maintained, the country and the nation will be in dire danger.
The 14-point proposal of the 12-party alliance is-
1. The removal of the allies of fascism who are working in the administration; New fit list for appointment of District Commissioners and cancellation of appointment of District Commissioners against whom complaints have been made and all contractual appointments of Fascism period should be cancelled.
2. Two of the advisers of the interim government are disrupting the spirit of the revolution-people’s coup, they should be removed and the government officials who have been denied promotion for the last 15 years should be promoted underground.
3. Constitute a separate judicial commission for the Pilkhana and Shapla Chattar massacres and publish the actual inquiry report of the BDR rebellion and release the innocent jawans.
4. The dream and achievement of the immense sacrifice, blood donation and life of the students cannot be allowed to fail in any way and to ensure accountability and transparency of the interim government, the progress of every ministry-based work must be presented to the nation every month. Declaration of account of own assets should be implemented.
5. The election commission appointment law was suspended and the election commission was formed immediately on the basis of the consensus of the political parties, the law of placing the NID card under the Ministry of Home Affairs was canceled by issuing an ordinance and all the union councils elected by fake votes of the fascist government were canceled, two controversial members of the fascist government including Jasmine Tuli in the election reform commission. Abolish the black law of appointment of collaborators and registration of political parties.
6. From 2007, during the regime of Sheikh Hasina, measures should be taken to withdraw all false and invisible cases that were politically motivated.
7. Action should be taken against those involved in creating unrest in Chittagong Hill Tracts and those involved in disappearances and murders should be arrested immediately.
8. The activities of the ministries including public administration, home affairs, law and health, which are not satisfactory, should be made effective by reshuffling the responsibilities or appointing new advisors, and if necessary, assistant advisors can be appointed in some ministries.
9. The public inquiry commission should be formed immediately and all the atrocities organized in July-August should be brought before the nation and the rehabilitation of each martyr’s family, the treatment of injured and crippled students should be given the highest priority. Officers and sepoys in the Civil Administration and Armed Forces who have been unjustly dismissed shall be provided with honorable rehabilitation to service through the Commission.
10. In order to prosecute individuals, organizations and political parties who are directly or indirectly involved in disappearances, murders, extrajudicial killings, human rights violations and genocide, the ‘Truth and Reconciliation Commission’ should be established in addition to the ‘Tribunal on Crimes against Humanity’, the International Criminal Tribunal should start fast trial proceedings.
11. Apart from the six state reform commissions, formation of a National Health Commission on the health sector and the reform process of the Army, Air Force and Navy should also be taken separately.
12. In order to bring the price of goods to a bearable level, regular monitoring of the market, stopping of extortion-robbing-corruption, freeing of hawkers for the movement of people on footpaths, alleviating the intolerable traffic congestion, including the administration, political parties, social organizations and change-seeking students-the central and central Formation of Regional Community Monitoring Teams.
13. The anti-national agreements that the fascist government has made with various countries should be reviewed, the unequal agreements should be canceled and those who have built mountains of illegal money and smuggled money abroad through anti-interest agreements should be swiftly brought under the law along with confiscation of their assets.
14. On the basis of dialogue with political parties and all social parties, the election roadmap should be announced after completing effective reforms within a necessary and reasonable time.
Jatiya Gonotantrik Party (JAGPA) Vice President Rashed Pradhan, Bangladesh Labor Party Ekash Chairman Farooq Rahman, Bangladesh Welfare Party Chairman Shamsuddin Parvez and other top leaders of the alliance were also present at the press conference.
