 The National Directorate of Consumer Rights has fined one lakh taka to a seller in Pallavi of the capital for selling eggs at a higher price than the government fixed price.

On Wednesday (October 16), Rifat Enterprises Diamond Egg was fined during a raid at Lalmatia Tempu Stand in Kalshi area under Pallabir police station.

The campaign was led by the Assistant Director of Dhaka District Office of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate. Abdul Jabbar Mandal. At that time, students of anti-discrimination student movement and a team of Pallabi police station were present.The Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection conducted a special operation in that area to ensure the reasonable price of eggs set by the government.

During the operation, Rifat Enterprise Diamond is buying eggs at the rate of 11 taka and selling them at the rate of 15 taka. Also not storing cash memos of purchase and sale of eggs and not displaying price list. The company was fined one lakh rupees for selling eggs at higher prices, not keeping cashmemo and not displaying the price list. After that, all the eggs are sold to the buyers at the price of 11 taka 87 paisa set by the government.
