The apparent low pressure over the Bay of Bengal has advanced and intensified into a depression. Due to this reason Payra sea port of Patuakhali has been asked to display remote warning signal number one.
This information was informed in a special notification of the Meteorological Department on Tuesday night.
According to the notification, the clear low pressure over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved west-northwestward and condensed into a low pressure over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas.
The depression was located 1,365 km south and southwest of Payra seaport at 6 pm on Tuesday. It may move further west and north-west.
The Meteorological Office said sustained maximum wind speed of 40 kmph within 44 km of the low pressure centre, increasing to 50 kmph in gusty or gale-like form. The ocean is rough in the vicinity of the low pressure center.
Under the influence of this low pressure, Rangabali and Payra Bandar areas of coastal Patuakhali are experiencing hot weather even though there are no storms. But rivers and seas are still normal.
