At least five people were killed in a head-on collision between two buses at Mallikpur on the Faridpur-Khulna highway. The accident happened around 5 am on Tuesday. 27 of the injured have been admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway Police Station. Salauddin Chowdhury confirmed this information and said that a bus named Green Express bound for Jhenaidah from Abdullahpur in Dhaka collided with another bus named Khagrachari Paribahan from Shyamnagar in Satkhira.
The OC of Highway Police confirmed that all the victims were passengers of Khagrachari Paribahan.
The injured were rescued and sent to different hospitals. 27 of them have been admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. The details of the casualties are not yet known.
