According to Kashmir police sources, the dead body of jawan Hilal Ahmed Bhat was recovered from Pathribal forest area of Anantnag on Wednesday. He was kidnapped earlier by gunmen. The soldier’s body has been mangled by multiple shots.
Two jawans of 161 unit of the Indian Army were allegedly abducted. Joint forces of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a crackdown in Anantnag forest on Tuesday. The operation lasted through the night. The two jawans were not found since morning. Allegedly, the gunmen took them away. Later one somehow escaped. He has two bullet wounds on his body. After coming out of Asdra’s camp, he was rushed to the hospital. According to sources, his physical condition is stable for now.
After this incident, the army became more active in Anantnag. A combing operation is being carried out in the forest and adjoining areas for weapons. Additional troops have also been deployed. Along with the army, the Kashmir Police has also launched an anti-militancy operation.
It should be noted that the results of the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir have been published on Tuesday. After almost a decade there was assembly polls.
