Al Jazeera gave this news in a report on Saturday (October 5). The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) also confirmed this in a statement.
Israel’s statement said it attacked Hezbollah fighters inside a mosque in southern Lebanon. The attack was the first since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah began on October 7.
The statement added, ‘On the direction of IDF (Army) intelligence, the IAF (Air Force) hit Hezbollah terrorists. who were operating from a command center located inside a mosque adjacent to Salah Ghandour Hospital in southern Lebanon’.
“The command center was used by Hezbollah terrorists to plan and execute terrorist attacks against the Israeli military and the State of Israel.”
Salah Ghandur Hospital, run by the Hezbollah-controlled Islamic Health Committee, said nine of its doctors and nursing staff were seriously injured in the attack.
The Israeli military targeted the mosque but could not provide any evidence that Hezbollah fighters were there.
