6 soldiers and 8 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists were killed in a covert operation by the military in Pakistan’s North Waziristan.
On Saturday, the country’s military media wing ISPR gave this information in a separate statement.
According to a statement, there was a firefight between security forces and terrorists in Spinwam area of North Waziristan on the night of October 4 and 5. 6 TTP terrorists were killed in this.
The statement also said that 6 brave soldiers were martyred during the operation. Among whom was Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shawkat. Who was leading the expedition.
The remaining five martyred soldiers are – Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman, Lance Naik Shahid Ullah, Lance Naik Yusuf Ali and Sepoy Jamil Ahmed.
In another statement, Pakistan ISPR said two TTP terrorists were killed in a joint intelligence-based operation in Charbagh area of Swat. Among which was the main leader of TTP Ata Ullah alias Mehran.
Ata Ullah was involved in the September 22 bombing of a police vehicle carrying foreign delegations in the Swat area.
The statement added that security forces are currently conducting operations to eliminate terrorists in the entire area and the sacrifice of such brave soldiers will strengthen their resolve to eradicate terrorism.
It is to be noted that although the name of the terrorist group involved in the ongoing attacks is mentioned as TTP, last July the government of Pakistan declared TTP as ‘Fitna Al Kharij’ and ordered all institutions to use the word ‘Khariji’ in the case of terrorist attacks.
Attacks on security and law enforcement forces have been on the rise in Pakistan recently, especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. In 2022, the TTP broke a fragile ceasefire agreement with the government and announced attacks targeting security forces.
