Israeli forces have pursued Hezbollah members in counterattacks in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah counter-attacked on Friday night as Israeli forces advanced on the southern Lebanese town of Odais. Hizbullah claimed that the Israeli forces retreated after accepting huge losses.
Hezbollah said they fired a ‘massive explosion’ at Israeli troops. This caused massive casualties among them. As a result they were forced to retreat.
After that, Israeli forces tried to advance again, they said. As a result, the conflict continues
No death was reported in the incident. Israel has not yet confirmed the attack18 people were killed in the Israeli attack on the West Bank:
At least 18 people were killed in the Israeli bomb attack on the Tulkarem refugee camp in the West Bank. The Palestinian Health Ministry said late Thursday that the Israeli military claimed an airstrike killed a local Hamas leader. The airstrikes in the West Bank were the deadliest since 2000, AFP reported from Ramallah, citing a source in the Palestinian security services. The Ministry of Health of Palestine said in a telegram, “18 people were martyred in the bomb attack of the occupiers in Tulkarm camp.”
The Israeli army confirmed the attack in the northern West Bank city, describing it as a joint operation by the Shin Bet internal security service and the air force, a brief military statement said. The Israeli military later said the strike killed Hamas leader Zahi Yaser Abd al-Razek Oufi in Tulkarem.
The army accused Oufi of participating in numerous attacks in the West Bank and claimed he was in the process of planning another attack. “Apart from Oefi, several prominent individuals who were part of the Tulkarem attack network have been killed,” the statement said. Hamas condemned the airstrike and called it a ‘brutal attack’, saying it would prove to be a ‘provocation of dangerous proportions’.
The attack was carried out by an F-16 fighter jet, camp official Faisal Salama told AFP by telephone.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, violence in the West Bank has increased in addition to the Gaza war, which began after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. Since that attack by Hamas, Israeli forces or settlers have killed at least 701 Palestinians in the West Bank. UN human rights chief Volker Turk said last month that Israeli operations in the West Bank have sometimes been on a scale not seen in two decades.
