Iran attacked Israel in retaliation for the killing of top leaders of Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and for increasing attacks on Lebanon. Tehran and its regional allies will never back down against Israel.
After more than four years, Iran’s supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, led Friday prayers at Imam Khomeini’s Grand Mosalla Mosque in Tehran. He said these things in that Friday sermon.
Khamenei said Iran’s attack on Israel is ‘legitimate’. The resistance in the region cannot be suppressed by killing the top leaders.
He said, Iran’s operations were against the bloodthirsty criminal gang.
Khamenei also said that Iran will carefully fulfill its ‘responsibilities’ to its allies.
Addressing a large crowd, Khamenei called on Muslim countries “from Afghanistan to Yemen, from Iran to Gaza and Lebanon,” saying, “Our enemy is one.” Uniting against the common enemy’ Israel.
Khamenei said, “The policy of our enemies is to sow the seeds of division and sedition and create a rift among Muslims.” They are enemies of Palestinians, Lebanese, Egyptians and Iraqis. They are enemies of the people of Yemen and Syria. We all have the same enemy.
Al-Jazeera correspondent Rasul Sardar said that Khamenei emphasized the unity of Muslim countries in this speech.
Incidentally, last Tuesday, Iran launched more than 180 ballistic missiles targeting various installations in Israel. Some of these included hypersonic missiles, which are believed to have a top speed of 10,000 miles per hour.
According to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, 90 percent of the missiles they fire successfully hit their targets. However, Israel says that most of the missiles were intercepted by its air defense system.
