The Food Safety and Quality Department of Karnataka has issued a warning saying that cakes from some bakeries in the state may contain cancer-causing ingredients. This time, similar harmful ingredients were found in the cake.
The Karnataka Food Safety and Quality Department said in a statement that 12 cakes were found to contain multiple carcinogens. Cakes from various bakeries in Bangalore have been tested for carcinogenic ingredients. 235 cake samples were tested. Out of which 223 are edible, but the remaining 12 cakes are found to contain cancer-causing ingredients.
The list of artificially colored cakes includes the popular red velvet cake, black forest cake.
