Expatriates have sent maximum remittances to the country in the month of September of the current financial year. This month, the remittance received is 240 million 47 million US dollars, which is 28 thousand 856 million 40 million taka in Bangladeshi currency.

Bangladesh Bank said that in the month of September remittances to the country reached 240 crore 47 lakh 90 thousand US dollars. On the other hand, remittances came in at $222.13 million in August. Accordingly, remittance flow increased in September. This month, an average of 82 million dollars came into the country every day.
In September of the previous year (2023), the expatriate income was $133 million. And in the month of September this year (2024), remittances have reached 240 million dollars. 107 million dollars increased compared to the same period last year. As such, remittances have increased by 82.20 percent during this period.
Bangladesh Bank’s report also said that in September, remittances through state-owned banks amounted to 638.2 million 50 thousand US dollars. 10 crore 99 lakh 80 thousand dollars through specialized banks, 165 crore 3 lakh 50 thousand dollars through private banks and 62 lakh 10 thousand dollars through foreign sector banks.
Earlier, after the remittance of 253.86 million dollars came in last June, about 191 million US dollars came in the first month of the current financial year in July. Which was the lowest in last 10 months.
