Nine Israeli soldiers were killed in clashes with Hezbollah. This information was reported in a report of the Times of Israel on Friday (October 18).
Five members of the Golani Brigade’s recovery unit were killed during a ground operation in southern Lebanon, according to reports. The incident came after Hezbollah threatened to increase attacks against Israel on Thursday.
The dead soldiers were Company Commander Major Ofek Bachar (24), Team Commander Captain Ilad Siman Tov (23), Squad Leader Staff Sergeant Eliashiv Etan Wieder (22), Staff Sergeant Yaakov Hillel (21) and Staff Sergeant Yehuda Dror Yahalom (21). Another officer and two soldiers were seriously injured in the incident.
A number of soldiers were seriously injured in separate clashes in southern Lebanon. Among them, one officer and two combat engineers of the 8173rd Battalion of the Itzioni Brigade were seriously injured. Besides, another soldier of the logistic unit was injured in another incident. In one incident, a soldier of the 12th Battalion of the Golani Brigade was also seriously injured along with Hezbollah fighters.
