The number of people displaced by Israel’s attacks on Lebanon has exceeded 1.2 million. This information was reported in a report by the Disaster Risk Management Unit of the Lebanese Council of Ministers on Wednesday.
According to the report, most of the displaced people have left their homes and shifted to other areas along with their families. Many have rented houses in new places. Many have gone to public and private shelters.
The report also said that thousands of people have flown from Lebanon, particularly to Syria.
From September 23 to September 29, 234,23 Syrians and 76,269 Lebanese citizens entered Syria.
867 shelters have been built in Lebanon for the displaced. Of these, 643 have been completed.
Meanwhile, Israel has increased airstrikes targeting Hezbollah officials and installations in Beirut and its suburbs. It has also started a limited ground operation.
Meanwhile, residents of southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as the southern suburbs of Beirut, have been forced to flee their homes in search of shelter in safer areas.
Since mid-September, the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has intensified, raising fears of war in the region.
